Every year, during the long new year and Songkran holidays, the Thai government launch a road safety campaign for the so-called Seven Dangerous Days. Although the government should be doing this year round as every day is dangerous, it does work to an extent. Despite there being more cars on the road, the number of deaths are often below the daily average for the year. All more reason for the government to extend their road safety campaign year round.
